Course description

This course is for those students who would like to continue to develop and practise the skills learnt in Drawing from Scratch.

What your course will cover:

  • revision of what was covered in Drawing from Scratch;
  • reinforcement of creating depth on the picture plane;
  • development of visual perception;
  • real life observation combined with interesting design and composition concepts;
  • further development of pencil technique to make anything that you do, real or not, look good;
  • creative play with what you have drawn before and are yet to draw;
  • subject/s may span over 2 sessions, instead of 1, to accommodate more complexity in compositions;
  • pattern concepts as potential additives to realistic imagery and to make ‘doodles’ more impressive.

What to bring

  • drawing pencils – 2B, 4B and 2 × 6Bs – any brand okay, however tutor recommends the blue ‘Staedtler Mars Lumograph’ pencils
  • a B and HB pencil are suggested but not essential
  • a pencil sharpener and eraser
  • sketch pad – A3 prefereably smooth textured cartridge with gsm (paper thickness) higher than 110 gsm (Arttec Como pad (210gsm) is recommended)
  • the pencils and pad suggested are available from Ad Art and Artery

Please choose your course carefully. A full refund is payable in the event that a class is cancelled. No other refunds are considered except for extenuating circumstances which are supported by a written application.
