Explore Your Point and Shoot Digital Camera or Phone Camera

Course description

This course is aimed at people who care about getting great photographs but are not interested in all the technical stuff that goes with being a photographer. It is suited to all types of digital cameras from your phone to simple compacts or even advanced digital cameras.

This course will not get bogged down in the more difficult concepts of selecting aperture, shutter speeds, and manual exposure found on D-SLR and advanced cameras. Many people just want to learn how to compose a good picture and make sure it has good exposure and colour without getting overwhelmed by the technical settings. This workshop style course would suit people who want to take better photos of the family, holidays or snap shots with the best composition, exposure and colour.

We will do window light portraits, panorama stitching, fill flash and lots more. This is definitely going to be more than just a basics course but will keep technical stuff to a minimum. Aimed for the non-photographer but would still have enough meat to interest a D-SLR photographer.

This workshop will include basic editing skills using free software (GIMP) to bring out the best from the JPG images captured by your cameras. We will even look at how easy it is to do panorama stitching with free software from Microsoft (ICE).

This “hands on” practical course explores the most important and simple to use camera features that have the greatest impact on improving your photographs.

What your course will cover
