Would you like a course where you listen, think and speak in Italian from the word go?
Would you like to consolidate your knowledge from the first 3 modules?
Would you like to be able to negotiate the Italian public transport system/bank/post office?
Would you like to do this in a safe, fun and engaging environment?
Then Italian Fast and Fun D – Sempre Avanti is for you!

This course is a continuation of Italian Fast and Fun C – Primi Passi.

  • Anyone who has any experience in Italian could potentially do this course, so if you think you might fit into this category, contact Adult Education before enrolling and we will put you in touch with the tutor for further information.

This course will further equip the traveller with functional language for travelling and daily living, and whet their apetite for further learning in the pre-intermediate modules.

What your course will cover

  • 400 most common italian words, a large number of common Italian verbs.
  • How to construct sentences from bite sized chunks
  • Revision of functions learnt in first 4 modules
  • Shopping in various types of shops – ferramenta, macellaio, tabaccaio.
  • Cultural insights – little known treasuces of Neapolitan history.
  • Describing your town, country
  • Dealing with communication and technology problems.
  • Talking about distances and duration of travel.

Language ‘hacks’ (language learning tips)

  • Develop' cheat sheets' to deal with various conversation situations
  • Apply new vocabulary and grammar by making you specific sentences
  • Stealing time for Italian practice
  • Talk about the past and future using the present tense.

You will learn the following grammar

  • past and future forms
  • use of the conditional for polite requests
  • use of the imperativo
  • use of the passive form

What you can hope to achieve

Consolidate language learnt in first three courses
Develop a range of strategies for dialoguing in diverse situations: shopping, communicating online, making enquiries etc.
Confidence in moving from present to past and future forms.

  • Most language classes fill up quickly. However, your class could be cancelled if not enough people enrol. If you are concerned about buying a book that may be of no use to you then please check the viability of your class with adult education before purchasing your text.
