Course Description

This Advanced course is suitable for students who have completed 12 terms of study with Adult Education (120 hours, approx.) or its equivalent elsewhere.
The course will be delivered over eight terms of study to cover the 12 units of the textbook ‘Nuevo Español en Marcha 3’ used in class (See details below).
New students who wish to enrol in this course are advised to contact Adult Education to find out whether it is the correct course for them. This is not an intensive course, but it will require some home study and weekly homework. The class will continue on to the next term if there are sufficient enrolments. Course materials will be provided in class, but it is advisable for students to buy the textbook (See details below).

What your course will cover

  • Unit 1: Gente. Rutinas y tiempo libre. Hablar de experiencias en el pasado. El futuro que nos espera.
  • Unit 2: Lugares. En la estación. Viajar. Referirse al pasado. Moverse por la ciudad.
  • Unit 3: Relaciones personales. Conocer a los otros. Hablar del pasado. Amigos. descripción de la personalidad. Pedir y dar consejos y sugerencias.
  • Unit 4: El tiempo pasa ¡Cuánto tiempo sin verte! Hablar del pasado. La educación antes y ahora. Hablar de experiencias.
  • Unit 5: Salud y enfermedad ¿Por qué soy vegetariano? Hablar de dietas. Hablar de terapias alternativas. Consejos para dormir bien.
  • Unit 6: Nuestro mundo. Lo ecológicamente correcto. Expresar sentimientos y opiniones: me preocupa, me molesta ... Hacer valoraciones.
  • Unit 7: Trabajo y profesiones. Un buen trabajo. Hablar de profesiones y condiciones de trabajo. Hablar de condiciones poco probables.
  • Unit 8: Tiempo de ocio. Hablar de deportes. Concertar una cita. Hablar de espectáculos.
  • Unit 9: Noticias. Entender sucesos y noticias periodísticas. Dar órdenes, peticiones, sugerencias. Expresar deseos: quiero que mi ciudad esté bonita.
  • Unit 10: Tiempo de vacaciones. Hacer preparativos para un viaje. expresión de la probabilidad y de la conjetura: a lo mejor, quizás, seguramente. Alojamiento en un hotel. Pedir un servicio. Historias de viaje: contar anécdotas.
  • Unit 11: Tiempo de compras. Comprar en un mercadillo al aire libre. expresión de cantidad: bastante, mucho ... Un hombre emprendedor.
  • Unit 12: Fiestas y Tradiciones. Hablar de fiestas tradicionales. Pedir un favor, pedir permiso, ofrecer ayuda. Responder a un cuestionario personal.

You will learn the following grammar

  • Repaso de los usos verbales aprendidos hasta ahora. Usos del futuro
  • Pretérito pluscuamperfecto
  • Verbos reflexivos y verbos como gustar: me cae bien, me molesta ...
  • Perífrasis verbales: dejar de fumar, acabar de leer un libro, empezar a trabajar, volver a vivir en Europa , seguir estudiando etc.
  • Oraciones finales: Hago deporte para estar en forma
  • Expresar necesidad: hay que estudiar, es necesario que, es conveniente que ...
  • Oraciones temporales con subjuntivo y con futuro: Cuando sea mayor viviré en Canadá
  • Estilo indirecto: María le dijo que no iría a la fiesta
  • Oraciones condicionales con subjuntivo: me gustaría que estudiaras más

Most language classes fill up quickly. However, your class could be cancelled if not enough people enrol. If you are concerned about buying a book that may be of no use to you then please check the viability of your class with adult education before purchasing your text.
