Course Description

This course is suitable for students who have a good knowledge of Spanish and wish to improve, practice and consolidate their oral, reading, listening and writing abilities. The focus of this course is on conversation, but this is not strictly a conversation class.
The class content will be adapted to the needs of class.
It is important to know that students in this course may have differing levels of knowledge and skill.
Students should come with a positive attitude to learning.

What this course will cover

The tutor will prepare the lessons for the course, but is happy for students to suggest topics they wish to cover in class.
These topics can be revision of specific grammar points, verbs and or any topic related to language or culture.
This course does not use a textbook.

The course will include:

  • Practising basic language in everyday situations through dialogues and role plays.
  • Reading and/or listening to texts and talking about them in class.
  • Reading books, occasionally.
  • Questions and answers, to practice with a partner or a group.
  • Occasional use of audio-visual resources.
  • Class discussions or debates in Spanish if the class is interested on a topic
  • Students who are interested in writing may also be able to do so as part of their homework and present their work in class if they wish.
  • Activities that help students to increase their confidence in talking in Spanish
  • Learning new vocabulary.


  • Students should have completed at least 3 years(180hrs) of Adult Education Spanish or its equivalent.
  • Students who have lived or worked in a Spanish-speaking country may find this course useful to keep up with the language.
  • Students who learnt the language in the past and wish to brush up on their language skills.

Important information

Most language classes fill up quickly. However, your class could be cancelled if not enough people enrol. If you are concerned about buying a book that may be of no use to you then please check the viability of your class with adult education before purchasing your text.

Please note that children must not attend this class unless it is a specified parent/child activity.
