              Mark Smith

              Resume

              Mark Smith – Mark is a registered, qualified and practising educator with over 30 years of teaching experience. He is also Tasmania’s most widely published wine writer. During a 15-year career, he has had in excess of 1200 articles published on wine and wine-growing. He has also had experience in retail sales as a fine wine consultant (part-time).
              Currently, he is a regular wine columnist for The Examiner Newspaper and its affiliated group of publications in northern Tasmania.
              He is also a regular contributor to Australian Viticulture and the Australian and New Zealand Wine Industry Journal – the Australian wine industry’s leading national publications – and to Tasmania 40º SOUTH, a quarterly lifestyle magazine which has a local, national and international circulation of 12,000 readers. Mark is also the author of the Department of Primary Industries and Water’s 2008 Tasmanian Wine Industry Fact Sheet.
              During 2001–2002, Mark was Australian correspondent for Riesling Report, a US-based e-zine for worldwide aficionados of wines made from the riesling grape.
