Terry started his career as a professional photographer in a modelling agency and opened a commercial studio in Sydney in 1987. He escaped Sydney to live in Tasmania after discovering its charms during a holiday. He has completed a science degree and bachelor of teaching, and is now undertaking a PhD at the Menzies Institute on the development of vaccine against the Devil Facial Tumour Disease. Terry maintains his love of photography and enjoys teaching through Adult Education. (He has also taught numeracy and business studies at a technical college.)
