John Gibb was born in Hobart but spent the first years of his life in the small mining town of Rossarden on the slopes of Ben Lomond. After schooling in Deloraine John attended the Tasmanian School of Art in Hobart and has successfully combined the roles of teacher and artist. It was the watercolours of Hans Heysen that inspired John to try his hand. John is a highly respected watercolour artist and recipient of a number of prizes and awards locally and nationally.
