BIOGRAPHY | HILARY BURDEN writer & broadcaster
Writer, editor and broadcaster Hilary Burden was brought up in Tasmania and returned to live in the state five years ago after establishing a successful international career in newspaper and magazine publishing (as editor and writer in Sydney, London and Tokyo). Amongst her many accomplishments she has worked as staff writer at Vogue Australia, deputy editor of Cosmopolitan (UK), acting editor of British Elle, and deputy editor of Britain’s The Sunday Times Style magazine. She was a launch associate editor on Grazia (UK), Conde Nast’s Easy Living (UK), BBC’s Olive (UK), The Australian’s Wish, and Tasmanian Enterprise magazine. She continues to write for the Sydney Morning Herald and Britains’ The Guardian newspaper (her last piece was on the Beaconsfield mine rescue), and is also regular contributor to The Australian’s Wish magazine (her last piece was on the Hobart-based jet adventure flight service ‘Top Gun Tasmania’), Australian Country Style and Vogue Living. She chooses to write about Tasmania and Tasmanians, while working as a part time presenter for ABC Local Radio and finishing a book.
