Aukje was born in The Netherlands but has lived in Tasmania for most of her life. Her main passions are natural dyeing and stitching, also turning secondhand garments into trendy wearable art. Aukje says sitting, stitching and creating makes her happy. It is a welcome challenge for her to create something beautiful out of something other people discard.
