Julia Butler-Ross of the Central North Wildlife Care and Rescue (CNWCR) has been active in conservation work on the North West coast since 1992.
CNWCR works in cooperation with the State Government Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water & Environment (Wildlife Management Branch and Parks & Wildlife Service), RSPCA and local vets. The group has recently opened a wildlife rescue education centre at Forthside and has been nationally recognised through National Australia Bank Volunteer Awards (2003), NAB Merit Award (2005) and various national and state funding.
