Dr Andrew Cole is a lecturer in physics and astronomy at the University of Tasmania. He was born in New York and received his Ph.D. in astronomy in 1999. He has worked on using clues from the properties of stars to decipher the history of the Milky Way and other galaxies using telescopes around the world. He joined the hunt for Earthlike planets and has been living in Tasmania since 2007.
