Gwen has been making baskets and teaching with Adult Education for many years. She enjoys getting to know the plants she works with and the environments in which they flourish. In 1993 she was awarded the Nigel Bills scholarship and travelled to South Australia to study the traditional and contemporary fibre crafts of the Ngarrindjeri people. She enjoys teaching and has learned much from her students along the way. ‘There is always something new to explore when weaving with plant fibres.’ (Gwen Egg)
